BJCC to host ‘Tennis Ball’ pre-party to Davis Cup

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – February 18, 2009 – The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex will host a kick-off party to the Davis Cup First Round Tie from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 5 in the BJCC Piazza and Arena Club. The event will include a possible appearance from members of the U.S. coaching staff as well as a silent auction featuring exciting items such as a Serena Williams signed racket.

BJCC chooses HOK as lead architect for 57,500-seat facility

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Friday, December 19 – The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex Board of Authority has chosen Kansas City, Missouri-based HOK as the lead architect for its planned multi-purpose facility. The facility will offer 167,000 square feet of flat floor space for conventions and trade shows, and seating can be configured for events ranging from 25,000-65,000 seats.

Birmingham, AL – A new concert series premium seat program, Your Exclusive AccessTM (YEA) has been unveiled at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) in Birmingham. The YEA program will provide music and entertainment fans guaranteed access to premium seats at the BJCC for upcoming concerts and comedy events, on an annual basis. The new platform will allow for the perfect entertainment experience. The initiative will focus on an annual premium concert series seat program. Industry veteran Jill Lovell returns to Birmingham and will serve as the Director of Sales for Live-360 bringing years of expertise and experience to the position having formerly sold premium seats for Oak Mountain Amphitheater as well as venues in Tampa, FL and Atlanta, GA.

USTA Selects Birmingham, Alabama as site of 2009 Davis Cup First Round Match

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., December 17, 2008 – The USTA announced today that the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex Arena in Birmingham, Ala., has been selected as the site for the 2009 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas first round match between the United States and Switzerland, March 6-8. The indoor arena is expected to seat more than 17,000. Tickets will go on sale in mid-January.
